Pupil Experiences Passport (Broadening Horizons)

At Shottery St Andrew's CofE Primary School, we believe that some of life's most valuable learning happens beyond the classroom. Our Shottery Experiences Passport is designed to ensure every child enjoys a wide range of memorable experiences throughout their primary school journey, helping them develop confidence, curiosity, resilience and character.

From Reception to Year 6, pupils work towards completing a variety of exciting experiences across six key areas:

  • Arts & Creativity – performing, music, theatre and showcasing artwork.
  • Sport & Adventure – outdoor learning, sporting events and new challenges.
  • Science & Discovery – investigations, Forest School, STEM experiences and exploring nature.
  • Enterprise & Aspiration – fundraising, financial literacy, careers and community projects.
  • Exploring the Wider World – visits to museums, places of worship, historical sites and learning about different cultures.
  • Leadership & Character – taking on responsibilities, supporting others, courageous advocacy and developing important life skills.

Alongside these, every child aims to complete our 'Shottery 12' Signature Experiences, including visiting the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, bell boating on the River Avon, performing on stage, taking part in a Science Fair, representing the school, contributing to the local community and spending a night away.

Children collect stamps and signatures as they complete each experience, celebrating their achievements and creating lasting memories. By the time they leave Year 6, we hope every pupil has grown as a learner, leader, adventurer and citizen, fully embracing our vision of 'Living life in all its fullness' (John 10:10).
